[Infographic] A Guide to the Commercial Photography Landscape

In a snapshot (pun intended), commercial photography creates images for commercial purposes, such as advertising, marketing, or instructional brochures. Commercial photographs appear on billboards, websites, in magazines, catalogs, textbooks and other print media.

In 2015, commercial and technical photography will generate over 1/5 of total industry revenue, or roughly $2.4 billion. Continued growth in the industry will be driven by an increase in corporate advertising and marketing budgets, which will lift demand for commercial photography services.

Ongoing adoption of new digital channels will likely impact commercial services in the future, as companies increase advertising expenditure on e-commerce websites, email marketing and social media.
